How to create a tenancy on myRent

To create a tenancy on myRent, please see the below steps.

Step 1: From your dashboard, click on + and then New tenancy

Step 2: Click on Get started

If you are setting up multiple tenancies or have any questions, you can click Request assistance to contact myRent Support.

Step 3: Type your address into the NZ Post address finder and click Next

If you are an existing myRent user, you can choose one of your previous properties from the list. This will carry over the room count and any property features previously entered for this property.

If you are unable to add your address using the NZ Post search, you can add a custom address by clicking Can't find your address? Please see our guide on how to add an address that doesn't appear in NZ Post address finder here.

This is especially helpful if the property is a new build or you have a granny flat that is being rented out separately to the main house (TIP: try adding a letter to the street number to show that it is an independent unit).

Step 4: Select whether this is a new or existing tenancy

Step 5: Add the terms, rent and bond amount, the tenancy start and end date and then click Next
