How to politely reject tenants that aren't suitable

We know that rejecting someone can be awkward. That's why we've introduced a "soft-decline" feature to our Messages.

You can softly decline applicants through their enquiry by following the steps below.

Step 1: Go to your chosen Listing through your dashboard

Step 2: Select Enquiries and applications

Step 3: Select the ** Enquiry** that you wish to view and take action on

Step 4: Once you are in the Enquiry, go to the section What would you like to do with this Enquiry

Step 5: Select Softly decline. Before doing this, you can click on the blue Example link to view an example of our softly decline email

That's it. The applicant will be notified that they have not been shortlisted for this rental and suggest other properties that they can consider instead. Easy. Less awkward.
