What happens if I don't receive an email confirming bond lodgement (Lost bond ID)?

Once the bond was lodged, both landlord and tenants would generally receive a confirmation letter from Tenancy Services within 14 days of the tenancy's start date.

The letter will have important information like the Bond number and Landlord ID used at the end of the tenancy when the bond refund form needs to be completed.

Regardless if the bond was lodged by you, your tenants or using myRent, sometimes these confirmation letters get misplaced or end up in the Junk folder of the inbox. You can search your email for emails in all folders from bonds@tenancy.govt.nz.

If the email is nowhere to be found, please contact Tenancy Services (if you lodged the bond) or us (if you lodged the bond using myRent) to organise the bond confirmation letter to be resent.

When contacting Tenancy Services, have a bond lodgement form handly, so you can answer questions about people featured on the form, dates and amounts to help locate the bond record.
